ACP >> Permissions tab >> Forum Permissions link on left >> Check "all forums" and submit >> Under manage groups click the first group to highlight it, scroll to last group and while holding shift select it. All groups should now be highlighted, hit edit permissions button.
You should now be on a page with every forum listed and every groups permissions for those forums. Edit as required, stick to using roles.
For the bot group either give them bot access or no access role.
