Do you have any MODs installed? No
Do you have any extensions installed? Yes

What language(s) is your board currently using? BritishEnglish
Which database type/version are you using? MySQL 5
What is your level of experience? New to PHP and phpBB
What actions did you take (updating your board; installing a MOD, style or extension; etc.) prior to this problem becoming noticeable? Was attempting to update to the latest version of phpBB 3.3.12 and was following the steps listed for Installation with Full Package and I'm shaky in working with the FTP so I believe I have deleted or overwritten something wrong.

1. Backup all board files and the database.
2. Go to the phpBB.com downloads page and download the latest "Full Package" archive.
3. Unpack the archive.
4. Remove (delete) the config.php file, and the /images, /store and /files folders from the package (not your site).
5. Go to the ACP, Board settings, and make sure prosilver is set as the default style. If not, set it to prosilver.
6. Delete the /vendor and /cache folders from the board???s root folder on the host.
7. Via FTP or SSH upload the remaining files and folders (that is, the remaining CONTENTS of the phpBB3 folder) to the root folder of your board installation on the server, overwriting the existing files. (Note: take care not to delete any extensions in your /ext folder when uploading the new phpBB3 contents.)
Please describe your problem. I am back at it again with another phpBB clueless newbie mistake and I fear it's a big one. My forum is a white screen (again) so I cannot access to admin panel or see my site. I attempted to upload a backup but because I believe I broke a necessary file for phpBB itself, the site doesn't load.

It is step 7 where I ran into issue. It would not allow me to upload the extracted file where it says to delete the config.php file, /images, /store, and /files folders. I tried just uploading the zip and extracting the files in my host's file manager (which is where I'm usually able to upload files without issue) but I think that was a big mistake and I'm not sure how to either reverse it or fix it and move forward.

Edit: My site backup popped up and my site loaded in finally (almost half an hour later), so I can get into my admin panel but I would absolutely love help to ensure I don't screw this up because apparently the instructions for how to update are still too difficult for me to follow.
