Indeed we had a lot of bot traffic and after setting up cloudflare I was able to identify a lot of bots coming from US and Singapore(?) — not quite a match for a German forum![:-)]( "Smile")
I found out we had about three million hits per hour from those countries. After blocking/challenging them, the sessions table held only 160 sessions after one hour instead of a few hundred thousands.
I think I’ll keep cloudflare running.
